Background on YALLA! HAITI! :

"Yalla!" is a charity organization directed towards basic humanitarian needs. It is a cry, outreach, and plea to the world to get up and act.

Causes these days are aplenty, whether it be victims of war, natural disasters, or disease. It is a non profit organization founded built to find any and all ways to collaborate in trying to do our part towards helping today's suffering world.

Yalla!'s first event targets Haiti. The January 12 earthquake in Haiti to date has cost more than 200,000 lives (numbers are climbing) and left hundreds of thousands homeless. 75% of Port au Prince was destroyed - some estimates say more - and the humanitarian needs are actually growing - not receding.

This is where Jackson Allers (Beats and Breath Productions), Nadine Okla (social activist) and Farah Aljundi (of Yalla!) came together in an attempt to do something for Haiti.

Thus, Yalla! Haiti! was born. This event hopes to cry through musical collaboration, and hence through our unity.

We welcome the participation of Immortal Entertainment, Beats and Breath Productions, and the Beirut Groove Collective and of course the artists and Snatch for coming together for this very needed event. Additional thanks to local 961 hip hop massive for their continued support with this event!

Special thanks to:

Rami Afifi-(creative director from Jordan) who designed the concept and logo of Yalla! and Yalla! Haiti!

Luana El Turk of 'Luanatic' creative workshop: Who has sponsored the printing of the Yalla!Haiti! T-shirts which are available to sell in her adorable shop in Monot. (www.luanatic.com)

T-shirts with the logo Yalla Haiti will be sold at the event to raise additional money for the Lebanese Red Cross Haiti relief fund.
